The birth of Jesus Christ was spread and King Herod heard of it.Many believers proclaimed that, the new born baby, Jesus Christ is the king of Judea. This made King Herod very angry. King Herod was afraid this new 'king 'would replace him as king of Judea. He wanted to find Jesus and kill Him.
King Herod then ordered his soldiers to go to Bethlehem and kill all the children under the age of two, thinking that Jesus would certainly be one of the children to be killed. But God had already told Joseph in a dream to flee to Egypt. Joseph took Mary and Jesus to live in Egypt where they were safe from Herod. The family stayed there until Herod had died before they returned to Nazareth.
At the age of twelve(12), Jesus went to the temple and begun to explain the mysteries of the word of God to the scribes .
