OKOMFO ANOKYE (AN AFRICAN TRADITIONAL RELIGIOUS LEADER)

    One of the leaders in the African Traditional Religious was Okomfo Anokye.
He was a famous traditional priest (Okomfo).He comes from Awukugua but became a great fetish priest in the Asante Kingdom according to history.
   Anokye was the good friend of the then Asantehene, Nana Osei Tutu I . With the help of Osei Tutu, Anokye did so many things for the Asantes so that they could win many wars. He commanded the Gold Stool of the Asante from the sky. The Golden Stool is a symbol of soul of the Asante people. It is called Sika Dwa Kofi because it came on Friday. He was also called Kwame Adjei Frimpong. He is believed to be the fourth chief of Agona in the Afigya Sekyere District of Asante. Nana Osei Tutu I was able to build the Asante kingdom through his friend ,Okomfo Anokye.
