ANGLES PART VII


SPECIAL QUADRILATERALS
Some quadrilaterals have special names. Each special name has a special property related to it. Note that you can often use these properties to find lengths and angles in quadrilaterals.
Quadrilaterals can be sorted out into main sets: those which are parallelogram and those which are not

PARALLELOGRAMS
1. Parallelogram
2. Rhombus
3. Square
4. Rectangle


NON-PARALLELOGRAMS
1. Trapezium
2. Kites
3. Irregular quadrilateral

SQUARE
A square has :
1. All angles are equal to 90°.
2. All the sides are equal.
3. Opposite sides are parallel.
4. Diagonals are equal in length and bisects each other.
5.The diagonals cross each other at right angles.
6. It has four lines of symmetry.


RECTANGLE
A rectangle has:
1. Each angle is equal to 90.
2. The opposite sides are equal.
3. The opposite sides are equal.
4. Diagonals are equal in length.
5. It has two lines o symmetry.


ASSIGNMENT
Mention five properties of a square.
