MY GLOBAL COMMUNITY (GHANA AND HER NEIGHBOURING COUNTRIES) BS 3


INTRODUCTION
In this lesson we are learning about Ghana and her close neighbouring countries . We shall discuss some of these neighbours of Ghana in this lesson.

MEANING OF NEIGHBOUR 
A Neighbour is a person or households close to use .

MEANING OF  CLOSE NEIGHBOURS
These are persons we share wall with in our immediate environment.

GHANA AND HER CLOSE NEIGHBOURS
Ghana, which lies in the centre of the West Africa coast , shares borders with the three French - speaking Nations of la Cote d'lvoire  to the West, Togo to the East and Burkina Faso (formerly upper   Volta ) to the North. To the south are the Gulf of Guinea and the Atlantic ocean.

THE APPROVED ENTRY POINTS OF GHANA 'S' IMMEDIATE NEIGHBOURS

TOGO
AFLAO is the main border crossing between Ghana and Togo to the East . It is the only officially recognized customs entry point between Togo and Ghana. Togo stretches from the North to the South on the Eastern part of Ghana.


COTE  D'LVOIRE
ELUBO is the main border crossing between Ghana and COTE D'LVOIRE to the West. La COTE D'LVOIRE stretches from North to the South on the Western part of Ghana.

BURKINA FASO
While there are many informal points of crossing along Ghana's northern border with Burkina Faso ,there are only two recognized customs entry posts  . The main post is at paga in the upper East Region , while there is a less used entry point at Hamale in the Northwestern corner of Ghana in the upper west Region
