Start adding from the extreme right from ones.

8+6=14

14 means 1Ten + 4 ones(10+4).

Write the 4 ones under the ones column.

 Send 1Ten to the Tens column .

 Add to the 2 Tens and 4 Tens to get the 7 Tens.

(10+20+40= 70).

 Write 7 under Tens column.

Add the hundreds (4 hundreds +3 hundreds= 7 hundreds.

(400+300=700).

NOTE: There are so many acceptable strategies for solving mathematics problems involving addition but according to the new mathematics syllabus issued by NaCCA learners are supposed to understand and use the standard algorithm method for solving addition.
