B3.2.3.1.1( WORD FAMILIES)
Two words are said to be in the same family when they have two or more letters in common. For instance, pin/ tin are families because they have common letters (in).
Sometimes,we can change initial or ending letters of a certain word to get more family members of f that word.
FOR EXAMPLE:
KIN - sin,win,pin,bin,tin
HAT- cat, Pat,hat,sat,fat
BUT- put,cut,hut,nut,gut
DAY-say,pay,hay,gay,stay
SIT- hit, bit,kit, shit,spit
GET- pet,set, met, let,wet
Got-hot,lot,pot,plot,slot
Have you noticed that family members of words were gotten by changing the initial letters of the first words ?
Similarly, the final letters may also be changed to get more words families of some words.
